Oxbow Town Council works hard to promote community safety. Community Safety involves everyone in the Town from the Mayor and councilors to the private sector, community groups, other orders of government, R.C.M.P, Fire Department, volunteer organizations and individual residents. Oxbow and Enniskillen have access to 24 hour ambulance service.

The Oxbow Fire Department is run by a group of volunteer fire fighters. The fire hall is located on Main Street.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police patrols the town of Oxbow.  The detachment is located in the Town of Carnduff (33 KM from Oxbow).
