PUBLIC NOTICE - September 3, 2026

Public Notice is hereby given, pursuant to The Municipalities Act, and The Public Notice Policy Bylaw No. 13-05, that the Town of Oxbow will consider borrowing money for the purpose of financing the replacement and installation of the ice plant at the Oxbow Rink.

Council is considering borrowing $570,000 for this capital improvement project. The proposed borrowing would be used to finance the costs associated with the ice plant, including equipment, installation and other costs directly related to the project.

The proposed borrowing would be repaid over a term of 10 years, with the principal and interest to be paid from the past and future fundraising efforts.

Council will consider the proposed borrowing at its regular Council meeting:

Time: 6:30 p.m.

Location: Council Chambers at 319 Main Street, Oxbow, SK.

Council will hear any person or group that wants to comment on the proposed borrowing at the meeting. The council will also consider written comments received at the meeting or delivered to the undersigned at the municipal office before the meeting.

PUBLIC NOTICE - August 17, 2026

Public Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 207 of The Planning and Development Act, 2007, that the Town of Oxbow intends to adopt a new Official Community Plan Bylaw 1174-2026, and Zoning Bylaw 1175-2026.

Intent
The Official Community Plan (OCP) will help direct and manage growth and development in the Town of Oxbow.  This document defines, directs, evaluates and guides Council in making development and land-use decisions.  The objectives and policies address the future requirements and direction for growth of residential, commercial, industrial, recreational and municipal land-uses.
The Zoning Bylaw is the complimentary regulatory document that implements the policies contained in the OCP.

Affected Land
The proposed OCP and Zoning Bylaw encompass all properties within the Town of Oxbow.

Public Inspection
Any person may inspect the bylaw at the municipal office at 319 Main Street, Oxbow, S.K. between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding statutory holidays.  The Proposed Bylaws and Maps are available for viewing on the Town website at www.oxbow.ca. 

Public Hearing
The council will hold a public hearing on September 14, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at 319 Main Street, Oxbow, S.K. to hear any person or group that wants to comment on the proposed bylaws.  The council will also consider written comments received at the hearing or delivered to the undersigned at the municipal office before the hearing.
